Absolutely one of the best thriller, suspense writers today.
I equate these novels to walking down a busy sidewalk and seeing a newspaper in a kiosk with a headline that you just can't ignore. If you haven't yet discovered Leopold Blake and the author Nick Stephenson, you're missing out.....a lot. Grab these books, and the rest in the series and get to reading. I should warn you though, you should clear your schedule beforehand, because you're not going to want to stop.
What should have been a relaxing vacation in Paris turns into another hopeless situation for expert criminology consultant Leopold Blake. Caught in the crosshairs of a ruthless assassin and on the run from the police for a murder he didn’t commit, Blake and his team must fight to clear his name before it’s too late.
As enemies close in from all sides, Blake is about to learn who he can trust – and who is determined to destroy him – as The City of Light becomes a new hunting ground.
Paris, France. A lone gunman is stalking the streets, a very specific target in mind. For Leopold Blake, expert police consultant and heir to his father’s global business empire, it’s the start of the vacation from hell as bodies start dropping – and his fingerprints are found at the scene.
Evading arrest is only the start of Leopold’s problems, as the assassin switches gear and moves in for the kill. With an innocent bystander caught in the crosshairs, Leopold must use every resource at his disposal to stay alive long enough to clear his name – and uncover the shocking truth behind the plan to discredit him.
I'm always a little leery of trying a new author. Especially in the Mystery/Thriller genre. So, it was with little trepidation that I purchased Wanted and dove in. Well, at 1:30 in the a.m. I finally pryed my weary eyes away and went to sleep. Great writing that flows well and makes the story believable. And of course the character building is incredible. Leopold is mixture of Jame Bond, Thomas Magnum and James Rockford all rolled into one. A real talent. To say that I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Love, love, loved the book and immediately purchased Departed. Highly recommend these books. A great read. Need I say more.
Nick Stephenson’s books combine murder, mystery, and mayhem with a healthy dose of humor. The Leopold Blake books have consistently hit the top five Amazon paid bestseller lists in Crime Thriller Fiction, and can be read and enjoyed in any order. Nick Stephenson was born and raised in Cambridgeshire, England, and his approach to writing is to hit hard, hit fast, and leave as few spelling errors as possible. He writes mysteries, thrillers, and suspense novels, as well as the occasional witty postcard, all of which are designed to get your pulse pounding.
In a previous life, Nick Stephenson has worked as a lawyer, marketer, chef, and paid assassin for the UK’s Tax Authorities. If you ask him about it, he will deny ever having worked as a lawyer.
One hell of a story with a great ending. Five Stars and then some.
